Cream cheese chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients

  • 1, 3 oz. package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 16 T unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 t salt
  • 1, 12 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 t. grated orange zest

Directions

  1. eheat oven to 350.

  2. In the large bowl of an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, butter, and sugar on high speed until well blended.

  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth.

  4. Reduce speed to low; beat in flour and salt until just combined.

  5. Stir in chocolate chips and orange zest.

  6. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls; space dough about 1 inch apart.

  7. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned around the edges.

  8. With a spatula, transfer to racks to cool completely; store in an airtight container up to one week.
