Savory Pull-Apart Bread

Ingredients

  • 10 sun-dried tomato halves (not packed in oil)
  • 2 cups Original Bisquick
  • 1 package (8 ounces) feta cheese, coarsely crumbled
  • 3/4 cups milk
  • 3/4 cups roasted red bell (sweet) peppers (from 7 ounce jar), drained and finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh or 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh or 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425 degrees.

  2. Grease square pan, 9 x9 x 2 inches.

  3. Cover dried tomatoes with boiling water.

  4. Let stand 10 minutes; drain.

  5. Finely chop tomatoes.

  6. Mix Bisquick, tomatoes, half of the cheese and the milk in medium bowl until dough forms.

  7. Mix remaining cheese, the bell peppers, oregano, basil, garlic, and oil in small bowl.

  8. Drop half of the dough by tablespoonfuls closely together in irregular pattern in pan.

  9. Spoon half of the cheese mixture over dough.

  10. Drop remaining dough over cheese mixture.

  11. Top with remaining cheese mixture.

  12. Bake about 20 minutes or until golden brown.

  13. Serve warm.
