Halvah

Ingredients

  • 2 cups farina
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 3 pieces cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 piece lemon peel
  • 2-3 whole cloves

Directions

  1. Heat the milk, water and sugar to boiling and boil and stir for 1 – 2 minutes.

  2. Brown farina and almonds in the melted butter in another pot until very brown.

  3. Remove from flame

  4. Carefully stir in the liquid.

  5. Return to burner and stir until it thickens and starts to bubble

  6. Remove from heat

  7. Cover for 5 minutes and pour into mold.

  8. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon
