Mamie Eisenhower’s Million Dollar Fudge

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 pkgs (4 oz.) or 1 12-oz. pkg milk chocolate pieces
  • 1 jar (8 oz) marshmallow creme
  • 2 cups walnuts, broken, chopped
  • 4 1/2 cups sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup evaporated milk

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine semi sweet chocolate pieces and the milk chocolate pieces.

  2. Add marshmallow creme and walnuts, mix thoroughly.

  3. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, salt, butter and evaporated milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.

  4. Boil 6 minutes, stirring often.

  5. Pour at once over chocolate mixture in bowl.

  6. Stir vigorously with wooden spoon until chocolate is melted and mixture is creamy.

  7. Pour into buttered 13X9X2 inch pan.

  8. Allow to cool.
