Souzoukakia

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice bread, moistened and squeezed
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 8 oz tomato sauce
  • Parsley
  • water

Directions

  1. Add the ingredients to the ground beef, except for tomato sauce, parsley and water

  2. Knead together

  3. Shape into elongated balls and place in a baking pan, close together

  4. Add oil to the pan.

  5. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes, then turn over and bake until cooked through

  6. Prepare tomato sauce.

  7. Remove souzoukakia from pan.

  8. Add the sauce, parsley and water, then bring to a boil in the oven.

  9. Add souzoukakia and heat through about 15 minutes

  10. Serve with rice
