Black Bean Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 1/2 c. choco chips or hazelnuts
  • 1 15 oz. can of black beans
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup water

Directions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl (flour through chocolate chips)

  2. Drain and rinse the beans. Put the beans back into the can, fill with water to the top and process in a food processor until well blended. Next add the blended beans to the dry with the vanilla and extra water and mix.

  3. Bake in a greased pan for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees. A toothpick should come out clean and the edges pull away from the pan.
