Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups canned pumpkin
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2/3 cup water

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, oil, eggs and pumpkin; blend well. In a seperate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, spices.

  2. Alternately add flour mixture and water to pumpkin mixture, beginning and ending with flour; blend well after each addition.

  3. Pour into 2 greased 9×5 inch loaf pans. Bake in a preheated 350 oven 1 1/2 hours or until a wooden pick comes out clean.

  4. Cool in pans 10 minutes. Invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
