Homemade Sweet Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 sifters of flour
  • 2 T salt
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 t yellow food color
  • 1 cup water

Directions

  1. Mix together in a bowl and let set: 3 pkg yeast, 2 tsp sugar and half cup of water heated to 105 degrees in microwave.

  2. Melt one cube of butter in microwave (1 min med-hi)

  3. Sift into tub: 3 sifters of flour, 2 T. salt, 1-1/2 cups sugar

  4. In a mixing bowl beat four eggs, 1 cap yellow food color, and 1 cup of water.

  5. Put everything wet into one container and mix; Add it to the flour mixture and kneed. Let it rise (can take up to 12 hours).

  6. Knead it again, separating it into 3 or 4 loaves.

  7. Spray bread pans.

  8. Smear beaten egg on top & Bake at 325 for 40 min; shut off oven and leave bread in for another 20-40 minutes; put onto cooling racks
