Macaroni & Cheese with Bacon

Ingredients

  • 3 cups uncooked rotini pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 cups sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and return to saucepan.

  3. Melt butter over medium-low heat in saucepan. Whisk in flour, salt, mustard and pepper; cook and stir 1 minutes. Whisk in milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Add cheese; stir until melted.

  4. Add cheese mixture and bacon to pasta; stir until well blended. Transfer mixture to casserole dish. Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until mixture is bubbly.
