Zesty Italian Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients

  • 3 bell peppers (any color), cut in half lengthwise
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar (14 oz) spaghetti sauce
  • 1 1/3 cups French fried onions
  • 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper sauce
  • 1/3 cup uncooked instant rice
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place peppers, cut side up, in a baking dish.

  2. Brown ground beef. Stir in spaghetti sauce, 2/3 cup French fried onions, cayenne pepper sauce, and rice.

  3. Spoon beef mixture evenly into each pepper.

  4. Cover and bake 35 minutes or until the peppers are tender. Uncover, sprinkle with cheese and remaining French fried onions. Bake 1 minute or until onions are golden.
