Caribbean Jerk Sauce

Yields 3/4 cup.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons dark molasses
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 fresh jalapeño chillies (stemmed and seeded)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions

  1. In a blender/food processor, mince 1 cup chopped green onions, 1/4 cup lime juice, 2 tablespoons dark molasses, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh ginger, 2 cloves garlic, 2 fresh jalapeño chilies (stemmed and seeded), 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg.
