Almond Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups (8 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 stick butter or margarine
  • 35 graham cracker squares, finely crushed (2 12/ cups)
  • 1 can (14 oz.) reduced-fat sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

Directions

  1. Coat an 11 × 7 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Melt both chocolates and the butter in a medium-size bowl in microwave or heavy saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring often, until smooth. remove from heat and cool warm.
  3. Stir in cracker crumbs, condensed milk and extracts until blended.
  4. Scrape into prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle with almonds, cover loosely and let stand at room temperature until firm, about 2 hours. Cut in bars. Store airtight at room temperature up to 1 week.
