Almond Chicken Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 2 green peppers, chopped
  • 2 cups brown rice
  • 1/2 lb. salted slivered almonds
  • 1 lb. cooked chicken, chopped
  • 3 pkg. chicken noodle soup

Directions

  1. Saute sausage until brown, remove from pan. Add onions, celery and pepper. Add onions, celery and pepper, saute until tender, covered.
  2. Bring 9 cups of water to boiling point, add rice, cook 5 minutes.
  3. Add remaining ingredients in a greased casserole, cover, cook 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Uncover, cook 20 additional minutes.
