This colorful bark is a big hit at our annual Butler Christmas party

Prep time: 30 minutes

Categories: Christmas

Ingredients

  • 14 - 16 Oreo cookies. (You could use the green mint filled ones at Christmas time, but I just used the original Oreos)
  • 1-1/2 c. broken pretzels (I used pretzel sticks and broke them into about thirds)
  • 1 c. Christmas candy corn
  • 1pound vanilla almond bark (available in the baking section with the chocolate chips) You can use chocolate if you want, but it's not as pretty.
  • Colored sprinkles of your choice

Directions

  1. Cover the bottom of a large cookie sheet w/wax paper.

  2. Break the Oreo cookies into small chunks and spread around the bottom of the cookie sheet.

  3. Sprinkle the pretzels around next and

  4. last put on about 3/4 c. of the candy corn.

  5. Melt the pound of almond bark in the microwave for 1-1/2 minutes. Remove from the oven and stir until most of the bark is melted. Then return to the microwave for another 30 seconds and the entire pound will be melted. Be care — the white bark will burn if you overcook it.

  6. Drizzle the almond bark over your cookie sheet, being careful to get some of it near the edges. You may have to use a rubber spatula to spread it around. Anything isn’t touched by the bark will fall off when it’s cool.

  7. Once the bark is spread, Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of candy corn around and then top with sprinkles.

  8. Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator until the bark is solid again. (Only takes half an hour or so.) Break up the bark and serve.
