Gruyere Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 3 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/4 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 2 tbsp. sherry
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • 2 tsp. chopped thyme

Directions

  1. Saute onion with salt and pepper in olive oil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until browned, 25 minutes. Add cheese, sherry, water and thyme. Cook, stirring, until the cheese melts.
