Batter-Fried Fish

  • 1 egg
  • 1 T oil
  • 1/2 T lemon juice
  • 2/3 c water
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 T salt
  • 1 1/2 T baking powder


  1. Beat egg; mix with oil, lemon juice and water.

  2. Add flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Rinse fish and pat dry.

  4. Coat fish with batter and fry in deep pol between medium and medium-high setting on an electric stove.

  5. Place on paper towel to soak up extra oil before serving.
