How to cook Medium or Long Grain White Rice

  1. Use a 2 to 1 ratio. One part rice to two parts water.

  2. Place rice into fine strainer and rinse for a couple minutes.

  3. Bring salted water to boil. Add rinsed rice and bring back to boil, stirring to remove any lumps and clumps.

  4. Place lid on pan. Reduce eat to a VERY LOW heat. Simmer slowly for 20 minutes. DO NOT PEEK OR OPEN LID.

  5. After 20 minutes remove pan from heat and let sit another 5 minutes…RESIST THE URGE TO LOOK!!

  6. After 5 minutes remove lid and fluff rice with fork.
