Plain Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups. all purpose four
  • 1 T. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 6 T. Butter or vegetable shortening
  • 2/3 c. milk or buttermilk
  • 2 t. sugar
  • 1/2 t. cream or tartar

Directions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, salt

  2. With pastry blender or 2 knives cut in butter till resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. Add milk.

  4. Mix lightly with fork until clings and forms ball of soft dough.

  5. Knead, turning 5 – 6 times.

  6. Roll dough 1/2 inch thicknes. Cut dough in rounds.

  7. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

  8. Bake 10 – 12 minutes.
