Baked Ziti

Ingredients

  • 1 tb EVOO
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lb gr beef
  • 1 26oz jar tom. sauce
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 16oz box ziti pasta
  • 3 tb butter
  • 3 tb flour
  • 3 c milk
  • 1 c grated parm
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 8oz shredded mozz

Directions

  1. Saute chopped onion in hot oil in a large skillet over MH heat 5 mins. Add garlic & sauté 1 min. Add beef and cook until browned. Drain and return to pan. Stir in pasta sauce & ½ tsp salt. Set aside

  2. Cook pasta according to directions. Drain.

  3. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over L heat. Whisk in flour until smooth. Cook, whisking constantly 1 min. Gradually whisk in milk. Cook over M heat whisking constantly until thick and bubbly. Stir in parm, salt, pepper. Pour sauce over pasta, stirring until pasta is evenly cooked.

  4. Transfer pasta mixture to a lightly greased 13×9 in dish. Top evenly with beef mixture. Sprinkle evenly with mozz.

  5. Bake at 350 for 20-25 mins or until cheese is melted. Let stand 10 mins before serving.
