Pecan Crusted Tilapia

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped pecans
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp hot sauce
  • 4 (app. 6oz each) tilapia or red snapper filets
  • 3 tbsp flour

Directions

  1. Combine the first 5 ingredients in a shallow dish.

  2. Combine milk and hot sauce in a shallow dish.

  3. In non-stick skillet, heat 1 1/2 tsps of oil or more if needed.

  4. Dredge each filet in flour, then dip in buttermilk and then bread crumbs.

  5. Cook in oil about 3 minutes on each side.
