Almond Joy Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box milk chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 12 oz. milk chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • slivered almonds
  • 14 oz. coconut
  • 1 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 24 large marshmallows

Directions

  1. Prepare cake according to the directions in a 16×10×2 inch pan.

  2. While the cake is baking, mix 1 cup milk and 1 cup sugar and bring to a boil.

  3. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the marshmallows until melted.

  4. Add coconut and mix well.

  5. Spread mixture over the cake as soon as it is done baking.

  6. Bring 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup evaporated milk, and 1/2 cup sugar to boiling.

  7. Remove from the heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted.

  8. Spread over the coconut layer.

  9. Finish by covering with slivered almonds.
