Hamburger Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1/4 lb sausage
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 package onion soup mix (dried)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cup milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. Mix hamburger, sausage, chili powder, onion soup mix, and egg in a large bowl.

  3. Make the meat mixture into 1" meatballs and place in a baking dish. Place in the oven and cook until done.

  4. Drain grease from the baking dish and put the meatballs in a casserole dish. Pour can of mushroom soup and 1/2 cup of milk over the meatballs.

  5. Mix the flour, shortening, and 1 cup milk to form a dough.

  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/3 inch thick.

  7. Sprinkle dough with cheddar cheese and then roll up the dough and cheese like a jelly roll.

  8. Slice the dough into 1 inch slices and place on top of the meatball mixture with the biscuits touching.

  9. Bake casserole in a 350 degree oven until the biscuits are brown and the soup is bubbly
