Sweet and Sour Chicken

Ingredients

  • 3 chicken breasts
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon accent

Directions

  1. Cut boneless chicken breasts into strips. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  2. Dip chicken in cornstarch and then in egg. Fry in a little oil until brown.

  3. Meanwhile, combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl to make the sauce.

  4. When chicken is finished cooking, place in baking dish and cover with sauce.

  5. Bake for one hour at 325 degrees. Turn chicken every 15 minutes.

  6. Meanwhile, heat another batch of the sauce on the stove to thicken and to be served alongside the cooked, saucy chicken.
