Chocolate Mint Brownies

Ingredients

  • Cake Layer:
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups Hershey's syrup (16 ounce can)
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • Mint Cream Center:
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 Tablespoon water
  • 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon mint extract
  • 3 drops green food coloring (optional)
  • Chocolate Topping:
  • 6 Tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Cake Layer: Heat over to 350°.

  2. Grease 13 × 9 x2 in pan.

  3. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter, eggs and syrup; beat until smooth.

  4. Pour into prepared pan, bake 25-30 min or until top springs back when lightly touched.

  5. Cool completely in pan.

  6. Mint Cream Center: In a small bowl, combine all ingredients and beat until smooth.

  7. Chocolate Topping: In a small saucepan, over very low heat, melt butter and chocolate chips.

  8. Remove from heat; stir until smooth.

  9. Cool slightly.

  10. Spread Mint Cream Center on cake; cover and chill.

  11. Pour Chocolate Topping over chilled dessert.

  12. Cover and chill at least 1 hour before serving.
