Chickpea Salad

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 fresh sage leaves, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon turmeric
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) chickpeas
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the oil and warm the sage and garlic over medium heat for 3 minutes or until fragrant. Stir in the salt, pepper, thyme, turmeric, and cinnamon. 2. Add the chickpeas and toss well. Remove from the heat and sprinkle with lemon juice. Serve warm or at room temperature.Adapted from ’’The Diet Code"
