potato double cheese gratin

Ingredients

  • 1 lb potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 16 oz milk
  • salt
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup coarsely grated swiss cheese
  • 1/2 breadcrumbs or panko
  • 2 tbsp parmesan

Directions

  1. oven 350

  2. combine potatoes, garlic, milk and salt in lg saucepan

  3. bring to a simmer and cook for apprx 8 min or till potatoes are almost tender

  4. blend cold water and cornstarch in a cup and stir into potato mixture

  5. cook until liquid thickens slightly

  6. remove from heat and stir in swiss cheese

  7. transfer to a baking dish

  8. combine bread crumbs and parmesan

  9. sprinkle over potatoes

  10. bake until browned and bubbly

  11. let rest 20 min. before serving
