Shephard’s Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 c chopped onion
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 1 c instant brown rice
  • 1 can condensed french onion soup
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire's sauce
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • 10 oz pkg frozen corn with butter sauce (thawed)
  • 10 oz pkg frozen peas (thawed)
  • 1 box herb butter instant mashed potatoes
  • 2 c shredded cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Brown meat and chopped onion. Add flour and cook 1-2 min.

  2. Separate 1 c of the condensed soup and use it to cook the rice.

  3. Add remaining soup to beef mixture, cook to thicken. Add Worcestershire’s sauce, liquid smoke, corn, peas and season with salt and pepper.

  4. Spread evenly in a greased 9×13 baking pan.

  5. Make potatoes according to box directions and add cheddar cheese. Spread evenly over beef mixture.

  6. Bake 350F for 30-45 min until potatoes start to brown.
