Cornbread

Cook time: 20 minutes
Serves 10 people

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup AP flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup oil, in 2 parts

Directions

  1. Mix the dry team.

  2. Mix the wet team with 1/2 the oil.

  3. Combine wet and dry team.

  4. Add the other 1/2 of the oil to a cast iron skillet that has been in a 400°F oven.

  5. Return to 400°F oven for ~20 minutes or until done.
