Sweet Dough

Ingredients

  • 2 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 7 to 7-1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. shortening

Directions

  1. Mix water, sugar, salt, and yeast together. Add eggs and shortening. Stir in flour.

  2. Turn dough out on floured board and let rest for 10 minutes. Knead and put in greased bowl. Let rise until doubled, then turn and punch down. Let rise again until not quite double. Place dough on board and let rest for ten minutes. Shape as desired, and let rise. Bake 25-30 minutes at 375°.
