Scones

These are very filling. I break the dough in half and form two 6 inch circles.

Serves 8 people

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups cream
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. cut butter into flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder until crumbly.

  2. add 1 1/4 cups cream stirring until just moistened.

  3. turn dough out onto lightly floured surface and knead 5 times.

  4. spread into 8 inch circle and cut into 8 wedges.

  5. Place on greased cookie sheet.

  6. Brush with remaining 1/4 cup cream and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar.

  7. Bake at 425 degrees for 13 to 15 minutes.
