Mulled Cranberry Tea

I made it with red bush tea (since we don’t do tea) and it came out bitter, but I think that was the lemon rind.

Ingredients

  • 2 tea bags
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 bottle (48 ounces) cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries (optional)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 large lemon, cut into 1/4 inch slices
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
  • Additional thin lemon slices
  • Additional cinnamon sticks

Directions

  1. Place tea bags in the Crock-pot slow cooker.

  2. Pour boiling water over the tea bags; cover and let stand 5 minutes.

  3. Remove and discard tea bags.

  4. Stir in cranberry juice, cranberries, if desired, sugar, lemon slices, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.

  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 2 to 3 hours or HIGH for 1 to 2 hours or until done.

  6. Remove and discard the lemon slices, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.

  7. Serve in warm mugs with additional fresh lemon slices and cinnamon sticks.
