Homestyle Apple Brown Betty

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of your favorite cooking apples, peeled, cored, and cut into eighths
  • 1 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, finely chopped

Directions

  1. Lightly grease the Crock-pot slow cooker stoneware.

  2. Place apples in the bottom of the stoneware.

  3. Combine the bread crumbs, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, brown sugar, butter, and walnuts in a mixing bowl.

  4. Spread mixture over the apples in the stoneware.

  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours or on HIGH for 2 hours or until done.
