Impossibly Easy French Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Original Bisquick
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons firm margarine or butter
  • 3 large all purpose apples (Braeburn, Gala, or Haralson) peeled and thinly sliced (3 cups)
  • 1/2 cup original Bisquick
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon margarine or butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 eggs

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Grease pie plate, 9 × 1 1/4 inches.

  3. Make Streusel Topping by mixing 1/2 cup Bisquick, nuts and brown sugar.

  4. Cut in margarine, using fork or pastry blender, until mixture is crumbly.

  5. Set aside.

  6. Spread apples in pie plate.

  7. In separate bowl, stir remaining ingredients until blended.

  8. Pour over apples.

  9. Sprinkle with topping.

  10. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

  11. Cool 5 minutes.

  12. To Make Impossible Easy Peach Pie substitute 2 cans (16 ounces each) sliced peaches, well drained, or 4 medium peaches, peeled and sliced (3 cups) for the apples.
