Stew

Serves 8 people

Ingredients

  • Italian salad dressing
  • stewing beef
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 3 cups sliced carrots
  • 3 med potatoes, peeled cut into chunks
  • 1 can 19 oz 540 mL petite cut tomatoes
  • 1 Can beef broth

Directions

  1. Cut meat into even 1 inch chunks

  2. Place meat and dressing in ziplock. Marinate for 30 min.

  3. Cook Bacon until crisp in large pot. remove bacon.

  4. Add onion and mushrooms and cook on med until softened.

  5. Add beef to pot without marinade.

  6. Add carrots potatoes, tomatoes with liquid, broth and bacon.

  7. Bring to boil, stirring occ. Reduce to low, cover and simmer 1 hour 15 min. Uncover and simmer for another 15 min until meat is tender and sauce in thickened, stirring occ.
