Palia Pudi

Powder to be used when making any veggie palia

Ingredients

  • 2 cup coriander seeds
  • 1 1/2 cup dried red chilis (Byadgi Chilies)
  • 2" Indian cinnamon sticks broken into pieces (app. 1.5Tbsp. pieces)
  • 1 Tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 cup Urad Dhal
  • 1 cup Channa Dhal
  • 1/2 cup dry coconut

Directions

  1. Add 1/4 tsp oil, cumin and cinnamon to pan. Roast over med-hi heat until fragrant. Approximately 3 min. Remove from pan and set aside.

  2. Add red chilies. Roast until puffy and burnt in spots. Approximately 1 min. Set aside.

  3. Add coriander, chana dhal, uru dhal to pan. in center hole add 1/2 tsp. oil. Dry roast, stirring constantly until brown and fragrant. Approximately 6 min. Set Aside.

  4. Once all the ingredients are cooled. Grind them together along with coconut.

  5. Now you have a homemeade palia pudi to experiment with!
