Caramel Banana Whirls

Ingredients

  • 75g butter
  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 c milk
  • 2 bananas
  • 1/2 t cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 c water

Directions

  1. Rub butter into flour and baking powder. Add sufficient milk to make a soft dough. Roll dough out to a rectangle.

  2. Mash banana and spread over dough. Sprinkle with the cinnamon. Roll up and cut into 6 thick slices.

  3. Combine the syrup, sugar, batter and waterin a medium sized casserole. Cook in the microwave, uncovered for 2 minutes, stirring once.

  4. Add the pinwheels, cut side up. Dust with extra cinnamon.

  5. Microwave, unccovered on high power for 5-7 minutes, until cooked
