Tangy Meatballs

Serves 6 people

Ingredients

  • 675 g. lean ground beef
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire
  • 1 small onion

Directions

  1. Bring 6L of water to boil.

  2. Form tight meatballs of beef and gradually add to boiling water as you form. Toss meat occasionally to ensure all have been submerged.

  3. Boil for 7 minutes after the last meatball has been added to the water and the water has reached a full boil.

  4. Combine in this order: ketchup, brown sugar, gradually stir in water and Worcestershire.

  5. Chop onion finely and add to sauce.

  6. Drain water from the meatballs and then add sauce to meatball pot. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to a high simmer for 15 minutes.
