Gooey Pumpkin Cake

Ingredients

  • CAKE:
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • 8 tbl. butter, melted
  • FILLING:
  • 1 (8OZ) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (15oz) can pumpkin
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 8 tbl. butter, melted
  • 1 (16oz) box confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Combine all cake ingredients and mix well with an electric mixer.Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13×9 inch pan.

  3. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and pumpkin together until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla and the butter; beat together.

  4. Add the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; mix well.

  5. Spread mixture over the cake layer and bake for 40 to 50 minutes.

  6. DO NOT OVERBAKE. The center should be a little sticky.
