Five Hour Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. stew meat
  • 1/4 tsp. celery seed
  • 1/4 c. minute tapioca
  • 1 lg can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can water
  • 4 med potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 2 med carrots peeled and sliced
  • 2 celery stalks diced
  • 1/2 small onion diced
  • salt and pepper

Directions

  1. raw meat in a dutch oven or large oven proof pan w/lid. Layer vegetables, then sprinkle with salt and pepper, celery seed and the minute tapioca. Add tomatoes and water. Cover and bake 5 hours @ 250.
