This came from the Spudnut Shop we owned for 15 years.

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2lbs hamburger
  • 1 tablespoon onion salt
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 4 cups grated longhorn cheese
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 6 doz. corn tortillas( Bueno tortillas work best because they are a little thicker.)

Directions

  1. Cook Hamburger,drain off all grease. In a large pan or bowl mix cooked hamburger,all the spices and then mix together. When mixed put cheese in and mix well. The cheese holds it all together.

  2. Soften a few tortillas at a time,place them on a paper towel to drain as much as grease as possible.

  3. Take about a teaspoon of the hamburger mixture an shape into log about the size of your finger.

  4. Place on one edge of the tortilla, fold tortilla over the meat and roll into a tight roll and close with a toothpick.

  5. Deep fry in hot oil and serve with your favorite salsa.

  6. You can freeze what you don’t use. You can cook them right out of the freezer.
