Buttermilk Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted or 1/2 cup cooking oil

Directions

  1. Preheat waffle iron. Sift and measure flour; sift again with baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar. In a large bowl, beat eggs until light and lemon colored. Mix in buttermilk. Add dry ingredients and blend well. Blend in melted butter or oil. Bake according to waffle baker instructions.

  2. Makes 8 six-inch waffles.
