Buttery Refrigerator Rolls

Ingredients

  • 6-7 cups bread flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 packages active dry yeast
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 egg

Directions

  1. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off.

  2. In large mixing bowl combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast and mix until well blended.

  3. In small pot, heat water, milk and oil until warm

  4. Add warm liquid and eggs to flour mixture and mix on low speed until moistened.

  5. Beat by hand for an additional 3 minutes.

  6. Stir in 2-3 more cups of flour to form a stiff dough.

  7. Turn onto a floured surface and add an additional 1-2 cups of flour so that dough is smooth and elastic.

  8. Knead for about 10 minutes

  9. Place in greased bowl and cover lightly with plastic wrap and place in a warm place to rise until doubled in size (about an hour)

  10. Punch down then place on counter and cover with an inverted bowl for 15 minutes.

  11. Shape dough into bun shape.

  12. Brush lightly with oil and cover loosely with plastic wrap.

  13. Refrigerate 2 -48 hours.

  14. When ready to bake, remove from refrigerator, uncover and let stand in a warm place for 30 minutes

  15. Preheat oven to 375 and bake for about 18-20 minutes or until lightly golden brown
