Ingredients
- 2 cups flour, all-purpose
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup margarine
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 square baking chocolate, unsweetened
Directions

Sift flour

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt

Cream shortening, add sugars gradually and beat until light

Add already-beaten egg and vanilla

Add dry ingredients, blend thoroughly

Split into two, mix chocolate into one half thoroughly

Chill slightly

Roll out dough

Jelly roll

Chill > 5 hours

Ungreased cookie sheet

400 degrees for 5 minutes
