Ingredients

  • 4 hard rolls (kaiser or ciabatta)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 8 ounces sliced swiss cheese
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced turkey breast
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced smoked ham
  • 4 dill pickles, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Directions

  1. Heat a nonstick griddle, grill pan, or skillet over medium heat.

  2. Slice the rolls in half, spread with mustard, and then add a layer of the cheese to both sides of each roll.

  3. Continue building the sandwich by layering the turkey, ham, and pickles on one side of each roll.

  4. Close the sandwiches.

  5. Melt the butter on the griddle and add the sandwiches, weighing them down with a heavy skillet.

  6. Cook for 3 minutes on each side, pressing down occasionally to flatten, until the bread is crisp and the cheese is melted.

  7. Slice in half and serve immediately.
