Silky Tart Dough

Ingredients

  • 8 T butter at room temp
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 3 eggs at room temp
  • 1/2 t vanilla extract
  • grated zest of one orange
  • 1 c all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. Butter a 9 inch round tart pan.

  2. Beat butter, sugar and salt with mixer.

  3. Add eggs one at a time.

  4. Add flavoring then flour, mixing just to combine.

  5. Scape batter into tart pant.

  6. Push the edges up the sides to make a rough rim.

  7. If batter is extremely soft, refrigerate for 10 min, then finish sides.
