Granita

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons gelatin, dissolved in water
  • 3/4 up lemon juice
  • grated lemon peel
  • a pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Dissolve gelatin in 2 teaspoons cold water for 5 minutes

  2. Boil water and sugar for 5 minutes

  3. Add gelatin and stir

  4. Pour in lemon

  5. Remove from heat and add the rest of the ingredients

  6. Cool

  7. Place in a Tupperware in freezer

  8. Scoop into glasses and serve

  9. You can substitute any kind of fruit for the lemon juice, but add 1 tablespoon lemon juice if using other fruit
