Pizza Crust

(from Organic Gal’s recipe box)

makes 1 14-16" pizza crust

  • 3/4 cup warem water
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbs EVOO
  • 2-2 1/2 c bread flour
  • 1 tsp salt


  1. Place water, sugar, and yeast in larg bowl; let stand until foamy. Add olive oil and 1 cup flour, stir to combine, Add salt, sitr. Slowly stir in flour until a soft dough forms.

  2. On a lightly floured surface, knead dough 6-8 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl; cofer with plastic wrap and a clean towl. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. Punch down dough, place on a lightly floured surface. Roll into a 14-16" round (or divide into 2 and make 2-10" pizzas). Sprinkle cornmeal onto a pizza peel, and top as desired.

  4. bake 1-12 minutes until bottom of crust is brown, and cheese is melted and brown.
