Brunch Turnovers

Ingredients

  • 1 (13 7/8 ounce) package refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1/4 cup orange marmalade
  • 3/4 cup chopped Canadian bacon or 3/4 cup cooked ham
  • 3/4 cup shredded swiss cheese (3 oz.)
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onion (2)
  • fresh ground black pepper
  • milk
  • sesame seeds or poppy seed
  • orange marmalade, warmed (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°.

  2. Line a baking sheet with foil; grease foil.
  3. Set baking sheet aside.

  4. Unroll pizza dough into a 12-inch square.

  5. Spread with 1/4 cup marmalade.

  6. Cut dough into nine 4-inch squares.

  7. For the filling: in a bowl, combine Canadian bacon, cheese, and green onions.

  8. Place about 3 tablespoons of the filling on each dough square.

  9. Sprinkle lightly with pepper.

  10. 10 Fold one corner of each square over filling to the opposite corner.

  11. Seal edges and prick tops with a fork.

  12. Place turnovers on the prepared baking sheet; brush lightly with milk and sprinkle with sesame and/or poppy seeds.

  13. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown (filling may leak out slightly).

  14. If desired, serve with warmed marmalade.
