Gingersnaps

Serves 10 people

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 Tbsp ginger
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees

  2. Cream butter

  3. Add sugar, egg and molasses

  4. Stir flour, spices, salt and baking soda together

  5. Add to the creamed mixture

  6. Form into small balls and roll in powdered sugar

  7. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for about 9 minutes

  8. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar
