Lasagna

Ingredients

  • Meat Sauce:
  • 1-1/2 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 T basil
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1 lb can tomatoes
  • 1 6 oz cans tomato paste
  • Cheese filling:
  • 2 16 oz cartons ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 T parsley
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 2 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Brown Italian sausage slowly. Add remaining

  2. ingredients. Simmer ½ hour uncovered, stirring

  3. occasionally.

  4. Mix all ingredients well.

  5. 1-1/2 lbs mozzarella cheese, sliced

  6. 10 oz lasagna noodles, cooked

  7. Place ½ of the noodles in 12 inch Dutch oven,

  8. overlapping, to completely cover bottom. Spread ½ of

  9. the cheese filling over noodles. Cover with ½ of the

  10. mozzarella cheese, then ½ of the sauce. Repeat layers.

  11. Bake for 45 minutes at approx. 375 degrees (9 charcoal

  12. briquettes under oven and 18 on top. Let stand for 10

  13. – 15 minutes before serving.
